Jazz Bands

Ready to try new music, a different instrument, or work with a smaller group?  Join a Jazz Band class and get going with a different beat.  Jazz Bands have their own concert dates throughout the year, plus they join Concert Band events in the Winter and Spring.

There are two Jazz Band classes at SLOHS:

• Jazz/Stage Band: 

Referred to as "Stage Jazz," this is our entry-level Jazz Band class. Students are not required to be concurrently enrolled in a Marching/Concert Band class and it does not need to be taken for a full year. Meets during normal school hours.

• Honors Jazz Band:

This is our advanced Jazz Band and is by audition only. Rehearsals take place after school (as a 6th period class) year-round.
